The Festival DJs Contra La Fam is an annual electronic music and visual art festival that specifically raises funds for the development and maintenance of local social initiatives addressing the problem of hunger.  

We donate 100% of all the profits made from tickets and beverage sales to local centers. The festival also increasingly serves as an unexpected platform giving voice to the unknown work of these local initiatives and for the need to support this work globally.

It is used as a means to increase awareness of the need for local social action and political engagement.   We intend to change the perceived frivolity normally associated with the electronic music scene while also providing a means of introducing contemporary electronic music to a new segment of the population.

DJs CONTRA LA FAM 07 will be held at Mercat Sant Antoni
in Barcelona (Spain) on the 7th of October, from 16h to 24h.

Fortunately, we have the opportunity to return to the Mercat Sant Antoni which is also celebrating its 125th year anniversary.   Starting Summer 2008, the Mercat will be closed for 8 years of renovations, so this is our last chance to enjoy ourselves in this public space.

Like last year, there will be stages in three of the service areas of the market, one of which will be the chill-out area coordinated by Hamaka Festival. There will be DJs sets as well as live bands. and similiar to past years, music will be complemented with visuals (VJs) and street artists.
