IV DJs CONTRA LA FAM will take place at the
Mercado Fira de Bellcaire (Encantes Viejos)
on Sunday October 12th, from 12h to 24h.


The FESTIVAL DJs CONTRA LA FAM is a benefit electronic music and visual arts festival. Its objective is to raise funds to contribute to the development of social initiatives that address local hunger issues.

The donation is 100% of the net benefit collected from ticket and bar sales. DJSCF is aware, after four years of working with entities in the social sector, that the festival serves as a platform for the recognition, increased knowledge, and diffusion about the beneficiaries’ work. This goes beyond the direct economic contribution as it also permits people to know not only about the centers’ realities, but also about the life situations of those to whom they provide services.

For this fourth year, we are moving to one of Europe’s oldest markets, the Mercat Fira de Bellcaire, better known as los Encantes Viejos. Since the XIV century, this market has proven to be an example of Barcelona’s commercial dynamism. With more than 500 professionals and retailers working year after year, day after day, covering more than 15.000m2, hosting over 100.000 consumers each week, and home to the sales of all types of products: old and new, artisan goods to high-tech electronic goods, it is quite a spectacular place. People who come to the market represent all types including some of the city’s hippest. There is also a sector of traveling salesmen who live in a situation of true marginality and social exclusion and whose only means of economic sustainability is made from working during the business hours of this market.


We will have 2 stages (Main and Club), the Hamaka zone, the Organizations Fair with the SHOWCASE PACAS and the collaboration of the collective Vaqueros de Barcelona: the city’s best street artists.

There will be 20 stands of non-profit organizations all of which work in the social-cultural sector and in the fight against hunger that have been or will be beneficiaries of the P.A.C.A.S project and the Festival. We will also have a “special program” in the CLUB stage during the early afternoon, where those who have participated in P.A.C.A.S workshops (DJ, sound production, videoart, etc. etc.) can show us what they have learned.

SHOWCASE PACAS originates from the desire to have an annual event to show the work of P.A.C.A.S and to give voice to the collectives that each entity works with. It is free as we are providing the opportunity for organizations to show their work and therefore are offering a chance for people to learn more about the reality of Barcelona.

The Main Stage will be where DJs and bands will play.

The Club Stage with its more intimate touch is where we can enjoy some of the best DJs.

The Relax Zone (the palm tree zone) is where our friends from the ecological collective Hamaka will prepare a space for relaxation and enjoyment of this Sunday of musical solidarity.

Vaqueros de Barcelona the city’s best street artists join us to give the festival’s aesthetic touch.


For all this, we will mobilize a minimum of 5000 people from the public and approximately 300 volunteers. Clubs, public and private companies, musicians, streets artists, visual artists, associations, mass media will all be present. The 12th of October will be a great encounter of culture and social action and the fight against HUNGER.
